Data Deletion Instructions

Social Media Sync by Breeze — a Shopify app by Juspay Technologies

Social Media Sync by Breeze displays a merchant's own Instagram posts on their Shopify storefront. This page explains what we store, how long we keep it, and how to have it deleted.

What we store

When a merchant connects an Instagram account, we store, against that merchant's store:

  • the Instagram account's user ID and username;
  • an access token that lets us fetch that account's posts, encrypted at rest (AES-256-GCM) and never stored in plain text;
  • a copy of that account's published media — photos, videos, captions, post links and timestamps.

This data is associated only with the merchant's store, never with an individual shopper. Visitors browsing a storefront's Instagram feed are anonymous to us — we do not link Instagram data to any shopper identity.

How long we keep it

While an Instagram account stays connected, we keep the data above so the feed can continue to sync and display new posts.

If a connection stops working — for example, the account's access is revoked on Instagram's side — and is never reconnected or explicitly disconnected, we delete that account's stored media for that connection after 30 days.

If you are the merchant: disconnect at any time

You can remove your Instagram connection whenever you like from the Breeze dashboard: open the Instagram Feed section and choose Disconnect. This:

  • deletes our stored copy of your Instagram access token and account link;
  • stops the feed's scheduled syncing for that account; and
  • removes that account's stored media for that connection from active serving.

Uninstalling the app from your Shopify admin, or our standard Shopify data-redaction process that runs automatically after uninstall, has the same effect: it deletes the stored access token and removes the stored media from active serving — no action is required from you.

"Removed" means the stored photos, videos and captions are taken out of active serving, so they are no longer accessible through our app or your storefront. This does not affect the original post on Instagram, which we never touch — our access to Instagram is read-only.

If you are the Instagram account holder

If you did not personally connect your account — for example, someone else on your team connected it, or you believe a store is still displaying your posts after you expected it to stop — or you would like confirmation that your data has been removed, contact us with your Instagram username and the store's domain and we will locate and remove the associated data:
